Is an expired, unopened feta in brine still good?

I have an unopened block of feta cheese in brine that has an expiry date of April 2026. Will it still be good?

Assuming it has been kept in suitable conditions for the way it's packaged (ie, refrigerated if required, or unopened aseptic packaging that is labeled for non-refrigerated shelf storage):

If an "expiry date" as stated, discarding would be correct.

If a "best by" date as is more typical, it may well be fine, those are conservatively rated sensory based, (i.e. for best flavor we recommend...) not food safety based.
