How does heat affect soy sauce storage?

I have had couple of bottles of premium soy sauce delivered by a well known interest retailer. Unfortunately, the delivery driver left them on my doorstep rather than the shade so they have been out in the hot sunlight for a few hours.

Considering a lot of bulk soy sauce is found in very hot kitchens, will this have affected the product, and if so, how can I tell?

Top Answer/Comment:

Soy sauce is reasonably heat-stable, and likely to have been produced at similar temperatures to those on your porch (the proteolytic enzymes in koji, the mold that produced the soy sauce, are most active at well above human-reasonable temps). I guess it’s possible that at really high temperatures volatile flavor compounds could evaporate off, but assuming the stuff was sealed that’s not a concern here. All is good.
